SURGOINSVILLE – Shawn S. James Barker, age 33, was unexpectedly taken from us on April 21st, 2021.
Shawn was born on June 5th, 1987 in Kingsport. He was a loving father, son, brother, and always loved helping people. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time together.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Sloan D. Barker, his brother Anthony Allen James, his grandparents Olen Marzell James, Ella Fae James, Edith Emogene Barker, Earl Houston Barker, and his Uncle Jimmy James.
He was survived by his son, Kaiden Bryce Barker, his parents Donnie F. Turner and Steve E. Barker, his brother Sonnie H. Barker and wife Leighanna Barker and their children Sophea Jean, Chevie Houston and Leo Asher; his brothers Steven Sullivan, Brandon Barker, William Snapp, Shannon Snapp, Kyle Dishner; and sisters Naomi Barker and Christina Snapp; his Aunt Tami Doo, Aunt Sandy, Aunt Debbie, Aunt Judy, Uncle Roger, Uncle Brian; his cousins Josh, Justin, Joseph, Jacob, Sarah, Jarred, Chelsea, Kimberly, Jason, Robert, their spouses and children, and several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home or anytime at Sonnie’s. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest at Webb Cemetery at a later date.
